The Progressive Hand Trainer is composed of a pair of high impact, 10" and 10.5" diameter molded rings that lock a fitted, circular Thera-Band exercise sheet in place when pressed together. The elastic sheet is die cut with more than 60 access holes, providing numerous strength training and range of motion exercises.
 

Used by occupational and physical therapists, including certified hand therapists, the Progressive Hand Trainer was designed to facilitate progressive extension exercises of the hand and wrist which are more difficult to do with conventional therapy putty. The Progressive Hand Trainer also allows therapists to perform the functional finger exercises against progressive elastic resistance, including pinching, opposition and prehension.

The Hand Trainer's elastic sheets are supplied in the same colors and resistances as Thera-Band exercise bands, from tan (extra light) to black (extra heavy). The Progressive Hand Trainer Intro Kit features six interchangeable progressive resistance sheets, including one of each color/level of resistance.  Refill sheets are supplied in sets of 6 sheets per individual color/level of resistance.
 

Like most Thera-Band products, the Hand Trainer comes with a patient-friendly exercise instruction guide for hand, finger and thumb rehabilitation and strengthening. The guide demonstrates more than a dozen exercises with full-color photographs and descriptions.
