AKRON, OH - The Hygenic Corporation, manufacturer of Thera-BandŽ products, announces that the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) has endorsed Thera-BandŽ latex and latex-free exercise bands and Thera-BandŽ exercise tubing for the ninth consecutive year.
"We are pleased to renew our endorsement of Thera-Band products," said APTA President Ben F. Massey, Jr., PT, MA. "These are high-quality products that are widely used and recommended by our members for both prevention of injuries and in rehabilitation."
APTA's endorsement of the Thera-Band bands and tubing began in 1995 with an extensive product review by physical therapists, select members of APTA's Board of Directors and staff. Each year the products are reviewed to ensure that they meet APTA's standards of quality. Review criteria consist of establishing proven benefit to the user, product efficacy and cost-effectiveness, among others.
"We look forward to working with the APTA in 2004," said Mark Anderson, director of marketing for Thera-Band products. "Our support of the association and its members has grown with our commitment to support research, education, and the development of clinically proven outcomes for all our products."
Thera-Band products comprise the world's leading line of progressive elastic resistance products for professional rehabilitation and home fitness. Introduced over 25 years ago, Thera-Band products and the System of Progressive Exercise have gained an international reputation for quality and effectiveness with physical therapists.
The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is a national professional organization representing more than 63,000 members. Its goal is to foster advancements in physical therapy practice, research, and education. |
